MICHAEL CORBALLIS ON CREATIVITY AND MIND WANDERING
New technology – such as functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) – allows us to explore what happens in the brain when creativity takes place. Michael Corballis draws on research that uses this kind of technology to explore why creativity is enhanced when people allow their minds to wander. The fields of neuroscience, psychology and evolutionary biology also contribute to our understanding of mind-wandering.
