Professor Bruce Sheridan was the Creative Thinking Project’s fourth Creative Fellow. He visited New Zealand in March 2015.
Professor Sheridan, educator and filmmaker, spoke to audiences around New Zealand about enabling creativity to thrive in our education system.
Drawing on recent research into creativity, he discussed:
- the case for reintegrating art and science in education (using evidence from neuroscience and cognitive psychology)
- how “science” and “art” are underpinned by the same fundamental human capacities, and how each discipline amplifies and benefits the other
- how technological advances will mean that future graduates will be required to make their contribution through dynamic creativity
