A gift to support Creative Thinking
New Zealand’s ability to succeed and prosper in the future will depend on its population being able to adapt to environments not yet imagined and solve problems not yet predicted. If you would like to know more about supporting the aims of the Creative Thinking Project through a philanthropic donation, please contact Amy Malcolm firstname.lastname@example.org
If you live outside the US, UK and Canada, you can also make a donation online to the Creative Thinking Project
People living in the USA can donate via the US Friends of the University of Auckland at NYCharities.org.
Examples of educational and research projects that need support:
- A research project has been designed to study how the brains of highly creative New Zealanders work and how their experiences in childhood, approaches to problem solving and ways of thinking affect their creative process.
- Overseas research strongly suggests that children’s academic performance is enhanced when creative activities are used to deliver information. New Zealand needs a significant study to understand the benefits of the arts in delivering curriculum to our children.
- If stroke survivors were engaged in a hands-on visual arts programme would it have a positive impact on their physical, mental, social and spiritual health? What could this mean for other patients?
- A team is working on how best to use the power of creativity to help rebuild a community’s resilience after a natural disaster.
