Entrepreneur Victoria Ransom talks with the Creative Thinking Project about why creativity is crucial in the modern environment – and how creativity has contributed to the success of her own multiple business ventures.
Victoria Ransom has been a successful entrepreneur since her early twenties. Raised in New Zealand’s Rangitikei district, she attended Wanganui Girl’s College and earned a scholarship to the United World College in New Mexico. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Macalester College (graduating summa cum laude) and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Victoria put her knowledge to use as an entrepreneur. One of the companies she founded, Wildfire (a social media marketing technology provider) became a global success under her leadership, with 400 employees and eight offices servicing tens of thousands of customers internationally. Wildfire sold to Google for $350 million in 2012. In that year, Victoria was also named one of Fortune magazine’s Most Powerful Women Entrepreneurs, and included on their elite 40 under 40 list. In 2015, she was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum.
